Sourdough

I am not good at moderation. I get into something and I get in deep. I never dip a toe into the water. I am always up to my shoulders. Right now it is sourdough bread.

This is my second round with sourdough. The first time that I was obsessed with baking bread was way back in 2010. I got into it deep, learned a lot, and then fizzled out. I don’t know why I quit baking and I don’t know why I got back into it. I made a starter and I have been baking a lot. The thing about sourdough is that you get a lot of excess starter. To keep your sourdough healthy and vibrant, you have to feed it regularly. I baked some rye, some white, and some pizza shells. I made some sourdough pancakes. It has been non-stop. I know that I am in deep because when I was practicing guitar today, I discovered flour all over the neck of my guitar. It’s like the ashes from Pompeii. My life is covered in sourdough and it is delicious.
