Poverty

I’ve been thinking a lot about poverty.

I have noticed a large number of panhandlers around town. There seems to be a hard luck story at every major intersection. I don’t know where they were all winter. Were they hibernating somewhere warm? Did they migrate to our area to glean it clean like a brood of locusts?

I’ve been thinking a lot about poverty.

I’m doing okay but every day I receive a bill or have an expense that reminds me of my limited fiscal position. I’m doing okay but a financial emergency would be hard to overcome.

I’ve been thinking a lot about poverty.

There are a handful of very rich people dividing up the world. We are crumbs from a warm apple pie and they are fighting for the best slice.

So, there is a big question that I can’t stop thinking about. Who has a more dire need of help, the person who lost everything or the person who is about to lose everything?
