It’s New Year’s Eve. It is probably my least favorite holiday. I don’t understand the purpose of this holiday. The premise involves staying up late to watch some shiny ridiculousness on television. It’s just another square on the calendar, another tick of the clock. I don’t need a special occasion to eat sauerkraut.
There is always a lot of focus on new beginnings with the new year celebration. You can’t have a beginning without a corresponding ending. Today, I am taking inventory of endings. Thanks for being part of my life. Goodbye.
There is very little chance that I will make it until midnight, although my kids are determined to stay up late. I guess a preemptive nap is in order. I hope you get the opportunity to nap and that your New Year’s Eve is fantastically shiny.
