It was 5 or 6 years ago and we were making plans for the Memorial Day holiday. One of my kids thought we were saying “More Oreos Day.” We now have a new tradition. Every year, on the last Monday of May, we eat Oreos. Memorial Day is an important holiday and I don’t want to trivialize the day with talk of cookies. I think it is okay to remember our fallen soldiers and also to eat Oreos.
