When I am trying to ride a creative wave, I need background noise. There are a bunch of songs in my catalog that were written while watching reruns of “Saturday Night Live.” I’m talking about the classic episodes with Chevy Chase and Gilda Radner. They are responsible for many songs that were written during a certain period in my life.
I’m currently experiencing a new binge. I enjoyed the show “Friends” but I haven’t watched a single episode since it was cancelled. Now, I’ve watched half of the first season. During that time, I wrote two daily dispatches and portions of four different songs. It’s not all solid gold but it was a good flow. If you write enough words, you are bound to hit some combinations that will be good.
