Christmas Polarization

You may have noticed that the world is very polarized. Christmas movies are no exception. Everybody has a favorite and they feel very strongly that their favorite Christmas movie is the best and anybody that disagrees should be sent to live in total isolation on a hidden and enchanted island, just like the island of misfit toys. Some people love the original Grinch with Boris Karloff. Some people have a recency bias and they love the new Grinch. Other people understand comic genius and they are acolytes of the Jim Carey version of the Grinch. Some Christmas Vacation fanatics can quote every line. Some wackadoos love Elf. These people have awful taste and should be roasted over an open fire along with the chestnuts. You can watch Die Hard during December but that doesn’t make it a Christmas movie. I understand that it is set at Christmas time but it is not a Christmas movie. It’s a movie that happens at Christmas. There is a difference and anybody that doesn’t understand this is possessed by an anti-christmas spirit. There are many different versions of the Christmas Carol. Each iteration includes three ghosts followed by remorse and then a Merry Christmas. They are all fine but Home Alone 2 is far and away the greatest Christmas movie ever made. I will fight anybody that disagrees.
