Celebration of Life

I had the privilege to participate in a celebration of life yesterday. If you aren’t familiar with the term “celebration of life,” it’s a less gloomy way of saying funeral. I provided some acoustic versions of gospel classics to close out the occasion. It was a beautiful celebration of Tom’s life. I cried multiple times. The waterworks started when his granddaughter shared some words about her Pappy. Then one person after another stood to share a story about the impact Tom had on them. They are a fantastic family and I am so sorry for the hole that has been left behind. It was a beautiful acknowledgment of a life well lived. I was deeply inspired to make sure that I live that kind of life. I want to live a life that makes others remember me fondly when I am gone. But my greatest goal is to live a life that inspires other people to live that kind of life.
