Bottomless Pit (Work in Progress)

Wednesday Words

I wanted to share a new song. It’s a work in progress. It started with a groove and a first verse. I think it might need a fourth verse but it is getting close.

There’s a knot in the middle of my stomach
Squeezing me from the inside
Might be hungry but when I try to eat
Can’t get anything down
It’s an empty pit, deep down deep
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill my soul

Pour one out for a guy I used to know
He’s been gone a long time
I think that maybe that guy is me
But I can’t remember his face
He looks more like a silhouette
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill my soul

I’ve been walking all day long
But I never left this room
A cold sweat and worn out shoes
My toes are leaking through
I cut my laces and wipe my brow
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill it
Never gonna fill my soul
