Better

I was thinking about the word better. I did not allow the word best to enter the process. I am focused solely on better. Better can only exist within a context where there is something else that is not better. You can’t have better without worse. This simple calculation led me to a logical conclusion. Right now, things are not worse than they were before. Therefore, I must be better. If I am better, things could get worse. This means that I must be doing alright.

So, if you are having a day where things did not get worse, you are doing better. Better is pretty good because it could always get worse and it didn’t.
